Q. How difficult is it to add games to my site?
A. We built Homepage Arcade to make it as simple as possible to add games to your site. You only need to be able to edit the HTML source to include one or two lines of additional code. No special hardware or software is needed on your server.
Q. Are the games really on my site, or will they appear in a pop-up window?
A. To the average user, the games appear to be on your site. However, you don't need to worry about bandwidth since the game files are served from our site. But the games do appear inside your HTML page, not in another browser window or pop-up.
Q. Can I place ads or other content on the same page as one of the games?
A. Sure. The rest of the page is yours to do with as you please. If you run ad banners on your site, you can certainly place them on the same page.
Q. Can I brand the games with my site name and logo?
A. Yes, by placing external graphics tightly around the games. Check out more information about branding.
Q. Will the games show banner ads or pop-up ads once they are on my site?
A. Absolutely not! The game puts nothing on your page except the game itself. You can certainly place your own ads on the pages if you wish, but no additional advertising will appear because you are using the games.
Q. Will the games show Homepage Arcade or CleverMedia branding?
A. No. Only a small "Game content by CleverMedia" appears while the game is loading and a copyright message appears in a corner of the game's Splash screen. These games are not meant to be advertisements for us, they are meant to be valuable site assets for you.
Q. What's the catch with the free trial?
A. No catch. We offer the trial so you can test out the games on your site before buying. We don't even ask for a credit card or anything.
Q. Can I use these games on my site if I charge a subscription fee to my users?
A. Yes. You can generate revenue from your site in any legal way that you wish.
Q. The game I want to have is not in your list of available games. What can I do?
A. If there is a CleverMedia game you want to have on your site, but you don't see in our Available Games listing, just let us know and we'll see what we can do.
Q. If these games are so great, why are they so cheap?
A. CleverMedia has been licensing games to other sites for more than six years. During that time, we have had many requests for a cheaper alternative to our usual licensing. This Homepage Arcade system is set up to make it easy for us to offer you non-customized games with minimal work on our end.
Q. What happens when my site reaches 10,000 plays before the end of a year?
A. If your site racks up more than 10,000 plays, you can purchase another 10,000 plays for $99.95. You can purchase as many groups of 10,000 plays as you wish.
Q. What if I want more than 10,000 plays?
A. For $199.95 you can purchase 25,000 plays also good for one year. If that still isn't enough, you might be interested in our licensing opportunities.
Q. How will I know when my site is about to run out of plays?
A. After you sign up, you can log into your account at any time and see how many plays you are using. You can track them on a daily basis and a per-game basis. Using this, it is easy to predict how quickly you will move through 10,000 plays. We will also send you an email before your account runs out of plays.
Q. Can players submit high scores?
A. Yes. We have a simple high score system. Check out the High Score System FAQ for details.
